Fellow Confederates,
I have been active in defending Southern Heritage for nearly 25 years
now. In that time, I've noticed two major trends: (1)
Assaults on our Southern heritage have increased in frequency and
intensity over that time and (2) The number of people active in
Confederate organizations has likewise increased. As is usually the case
in politics, every action causes a reaction and our movement has, in
many ways, been the beneficiary of the Left's assault on our heritage,
much as the NRA has been the recent beneficiary of the attacks by
Clinton's gun-control mob.
The important thing to note here is that as the battle grows more
intense, we can fully expect our numbers and resources to grow - giving
us the strength we'll eventually need to halt and then turn back the
onslaught. In the interim, though, the challenge for our movement
is to find a means of being relevant to the two groups of people who
actually matter in this struggle: (1) The Southern people and (2)
The South's politicians.
As in all great struggles of this sort, we are opposed by groups like
the NAACP who fully understand that political action is not optional -
it is mandatory. Recognizing this in late 1998, I and about 3
dozen other Southern nationalists, came together to begin the effort to
form a Southern Party. In the year and half that has passed since
then, the Southern Party has been successfully launched and though it
has had it's momentary setbacks the Southern Party can still provide a
viable vehicle for effective political action.
Sadly, though, I've observed some who post to pro-South mailing lists
hold the mistaken notion that groups that advocate secession do harm to
our cause. If this is so, then our Confederate founding fathers
were in error and we should all furl our flags, shut our mouths and
concede victory to the Yankees and the NAACP and go home. It is
shameful and a disgrace to the memory of our Confederate ancestors that
any modern-day Confederate would utter words that are only fit to come
forth from the mouths of Yankee unionists and that sort of talk needs to
cease.
Sooner or later it will sink into even the thickest skulls that 1/3 of
the US population, (i.e. Southerners), have no hope of reforming a
corrupt, consolidated union that is dominated by a majority of
non-Southerners who consistently vote for the two corrupt,
quasi-socialist, federalist-oriented political parties that seek to deny
meaningful self-government to the states because they LIKE seeing all
power concentrated in their own hands. This being the case,
secession is the ONLY political course that makes any sense at all, but
we are naturally talking about a long-term course of action.
The problem with too many conservatives and Confederates, is that we
want instant gratification. It doesn't work that way. It
takes decades to turn these things around and we'll never reach our
goals if all we do is focus on short-term political goals.
Secession needs to be our trump card and the goal we always strive for.
Moderation is for those who ultimately intend to surrender and are
hoping for generous terms and we would do well to quit talking of
moderation when the enemy is upon us and flying the flag of "No
Quarter." These are radical times and radical action and
radical positions will be necessary if we are to inspire a real movement
that has the fire and zeal needed to turn back the ideologues of the
Left.
So, how do we go about limiting the damage that is being done to our
heritage and our liberties while simultaneously advancing the cause of
Southern independence? Quite simply, by joining and supporting the
Southern Party. If you don't trust the Democrats and have given up
on the Republicans, then the best thing you can do with your precious
time, money and votes is to donate them to the Southern Party.
Don't just give up and go home and PLEASE do not give your votes to
either of the two major parties. This idea that one must vote for
Republicans as the "lesser of two evils" simply guarantees
that no matter which way you vote, evil wins. Don't be a dupe.
We have, in reality, a one-party state in America and the Democrats and
Republicans are just two wings of the same corrupt ruling elite and
neither of them are friends of the South and most certainly not of our
Confederate heritage.
The time is now for Southerners to dessert the major parties en masse
and to join the SP so that a solid, unified, Southern political movement
can finally begin to flex it's muscles before all is lost. If
enough Southerners would do this, the Southern Party could quickly
become the "spoiler" in many local and statewide political
races - drawing votes away from scalawag politicians of both major
parties and causing anti-flag incumbents to lose the one thing they
cherish most - their political offices.
This was the strategy followed in SC a couple of years ago when the
Republican traitor Beasley was ousted from the governor's mansion.
Now, Southern patriots in SC should be flocking to sign up to run as
Southern Party candidates against every Democrat and Republican in that
state's legislature who voted to bring down our flag. Defeating
any of these rascals would be sweet revenge and it would send a message
to politicians in Georgia and Mississippi who may be contemplating
assaults on their state flags - each of which incorporate the battle
flag design. If you want the Confederate movement to be feared by
the politicians and respected by the average citizen, then you must do
your part to build a Southern Party that will become the true political
voice of the Southern people.
Remember, in the beginning we do not have to elect our people to become
a powerful force. All we have to do is prove that we can be
"spoilers" who can deny offices to those who betray our
interests. If SP candidates were to take 5 - 10% of the vote in
state legislative races across SC this fall, it would scare the living
hell out of the major party politicians - possibly costing many their
seats in close elections - and they'd spend more time worrying about
"offending" Confederates, then offending NAACP liberals.
Later, as we build on the political clout earned by being consistent
spoilers, we can eventually begin ousting major party candidates
entirely from our legislatures and electing solid, SP candidates to
office in their place.
So, I implore my fellow compatriots to bring an end to this treasonous,
anti-South, anti-secession talk. This is not the time to surrender
our principles, ladies and gentlemen. It's bad enough that our
flag has been surrendered, but we will only compound that error if we
betray the cause that Davis, Jackson and Lee fought for - and that was
the cause of secession and Southern independence.
Now, enough bellyaching about the SC flag fight. We fought hard
and we fought honorably and we lost - but not because we couldn't have
won, but because we were double-crossed and backstabbed by politicians
in SC who should have stood firm with us. Now it's time to lick
our wounds and get back in the trenches for the next battle. The
SC flag fight victory may indeed prove to be a Pyrrhic one for our
enemies if it proves to be the act that rallied Southern patriots to
become politically united for Southern independence and a no-compromise,
no retreat, radical stand against any further cultural cleansing by the
NAACP and their supporters.
Keep in mind that the NAACP has largely expended what political capital
it had in the SC fight, and they are now widely perceived as the most
unreasonable party to the dispute - thus undermining their future
support by confirming what we have been saying about them all along -
that they'll never be satisfied until they've wiped all things
Confederate from the face of the Earth. We need to build upon this
fact and capitalize on their intransigence and steel ourselves for the
counter-assault that we MUST launch in the political arena. The
signing of the flag bill by Gov. Hodges was not the end unless we all
content ourselves to just write letters of complaint to left-wing
newspapers (who could care less) and to one another via email. The
time for half-measures is over. This is political war, and we can
only win if everyone enlists in the SP and gets down to the serious work
of growing the Southern nationalist movement.
So, if you REALLY want to even the score and to land a blow where it
will really COUNT for a change - then join the Southern Party -
especially those of you who live in South Carolina - and work with other
pro-South groups like the LoS,
the HPA,
the SCV,
the UDC,
etc., to form pro-South voting blocs that will march to the polls this
November and retire a mess of scalawags from office.
If we do this, we can afford to lose a few battles, but still win the
war. The Southern Party has a web site at http://www.southernparty.org.
Go there now and print out the membership application form and send it
in with your check. Be generous - I can assure you that the
enemies of Dixie are pouring money into the coffers of the anti-flag
bigots like the NAACP. Also, if you can make it to the SP national
convention in Charleston on June 30 - July 1, 2000, then by all means be
there and take your stand for Dixie!
