WE HAVE JUST BEGUN TO FIGHT

Take heart friends and know that you are not alone. Although you may, as we all do at times, become frustrated or disgusted because some of the rest of the group may not agree with us on various issues or solutions to those issues, remember these few things:

Most people involved in this Southern Movement for Independence and the right to honor our Southern heritage and culture are sincere in their desires and also in their fears of what they see developing rapidly in Washington, D.C. and the New World Order dictatorship. It is designed to become the "Evil Empire".

People who are not from the south, but from various other regions of this country and even in other countries are frantically working now to sound the alarm to their neighbors like Patrick Henry in 1775 with his "Give me liberty or give me death" speech in his attempt to rally his neighbors. Those times were no less frustrating and disgusting and seemingly futile against the World’s most powerful Empire, the British Empire. People around the country in these other countries are suffering from frustration and disgust because so many of their friends simply don’t see the problem the way they do or are not willing to get involved.

What’s new. Only about 3% supported the American Revolution, but the idea and the determination and perseverance of a few paid off and actually won. Even more frustrating must have been scene after the victory against the British, when they saw their neighbors making serious mistakes that could and did lead to new serious consequences endangering their liberty to enjoy freedoms so hard won. In the conflict that we of the Southern Party find ourselves in today, of the struggle to further two key ideas. The first idea is one that is involved in the struggle for freedom and liberty throughout the world. That is the idea of:

1. "States’ Rights and Individual Sovereignty vs. Centralist Control from the Top Down."

People around the world and in this country as well are fighting for the protection of certain rights like the right to bear arms (Charleston Heston & the NRA), the right to local control of our schools, our states our cities, and even veteran’s rights (Rolling Thunder, Inc.), etc.

The second idea is one that only involves our own region in our own country which is the idea of:

2. "Secession and Independence for the Southern States."

This is an idea already being kept alive by the Sons of Confederate Veterans and being furthered by the League of the South and other similar great organizations. We are now attempting to put together political machinery to gain meaningful political power in the Statehouses of the South to further both of these ideas. Not surprisingly, we have run into a series of normal and to be expected political problems. Sure, it can be discouraging and seem futile. Imagine if you were listening to Patrick Henry and the arguments against his ideas by the Loyalists of that day. That would have been discouraging and seemed futile also.

We are all in a trench, so to speak, waiting. Some of us know that we are waiting for the charge of British troops we can see and hear gathering in the bushes beyond. In that group, some would rather leave the trench while others have strong determination to hold their ground. (Both of these are normal). Then, in the trench, we also have those who are disillusioned about the meaning of the noise they hear in the bushes beyond. They know it is the British, but they have deluded themselves into believing that they can deal with them and perhaps negotiate terms. Others in the trench are even somewhat sympathetic to the British cause and are unsure of what to do or are inclined to follow the lead the British General is offering. Finally, there are a few in the trench who are actually agents of the British who are working to sabotage the efforts of those who want to hold the line.

Today, we are in such a trench, but the forces gathering are Yankee troops (Federal Agents, Republican or Democratic Party Saboteurs, British Agents and other powerful think-tank groups like the Trilateralists and the Council on Foreign Relations, ad nauseam). (Oh yes, British Agents even today, working for the interests of the Crown).

Now we are involved in a valiant effort to forge a great political "third" party that makes more sense than any other ideas of futile reform which has consistently failed for 135 years and that was a group which was co-sponsored the idea of founding the Southern Party. Just who was exactly first might be of value for history, but for the movement, it is not important because many people and groups jumped in and helped to forge this new effort along the two main ideas shown above.

Many were privileged to have been signers of the Asheville Declaration, a very bold move a great significance. The many of us late comers who were not so privileged, nevertheless support the ideas contained therein and have worked to develop the Southern Party political organization into a movement that furthers the Asheville Declaration. Those ideas will prevail and the movement will continue to prosper and gain regardless of some fate of the Southern Party or some other off-shoot of the Southern Party.

The movement to further the ideas of "States’ Rights and Individual Sovereignty vs. Centralist Control from the Top Down" and "Secession and Independence for the Southern States" shall not perish from the hearts and efforts of the people in the Federation of Free States who are seeking their own sovereignty and freedom.

Remember the final words of the Asheville Declaration:

Therefore, we, the founders of the Southern party, invoking the blessings of everlasting, almighty God and pledging our "lives, fortunes and sacred honor," solemnly resolve to restore to the people of the South the lawful self-government and independence which are their birthright. Our struggle is not for riches, glory or honor but for the freedom to govern ourselves and to resume our rightful place among the peoples and the nations of the earth. In the spirit of Christian charity, bearing malice toward none, we invite high-minded individuals from all walks and stations of life to join us in our struggle to restore the blessings of ordered liberty to our beloved Southland.

Hang in there folks.
